Insulation for industrial columns

Flexible and high-performing solutions for Column insulation

Industrial distillation or extraction columns in chemical production plants require specially developed and durable insulation. We specialize in providing innovative solutions tailored to the unique needs of industrial insulation for columns in the chemical industry.

Our primary goal is to provide insulation materials that are perfectly adapted to the complex design and special requirements of distillation and extraction columns. We offer flexible and high-performing solutions that can withstand the harsh conditions related with equipment in chemical plants.

Our contribution to stable conditions

For columns used in industrial process plants, the appropriate choice of an adequate insulation material can play a major role in maintaining the correct process temperature according to the respective specifications as the operating temperature can be crucial for the effectiveness of the production process. The insulation system should therefore be designed and calculated in a way that maintains the optimal internal temperature of the column. For calculations to determine the correct performance of the insulation system, we recommend using PAROC Calculus.

Complex structures require flexible solutions

Insulating complex structures for chemical plants, such as distillation and extraction columns, can be challenging due to the varying shape and size of industrial columns. Each case and each part of the column needs to be considered independently.

The insulation system design should aim to eliminate thermal bridges to minimize heat and energy loss. This may require double- or multi-layer insulation solutions with overlapping layers. Critical areas to consider include wall bracing structures and access covers. Most of our insulation products offer excellent water-repellent properties such as very low water absorption and a wide temperature range. The aim is to reduce the risk of corrosion, ultimately reducing maintenance needs and extending the service life of the system. Learn more about CUI >

PAROC Calculus

PAROC Calculus is a technical insulation calculation program for dimensioning thermal insulation for various applications in the HVAC and Process industries.

PAROC Calculus features:

• Easy-to-use interface; works on PCs, tablets, and cellphones

• Calculations of heat losses, surface temperatures, and temperature drop in pipes, ventilation ducts, process industry tanks, valves, and flanges

• Simple input of pipe diameters and duct dimensions (predefined)

• Correcting for thermal bridges of pipe and duct suspensions

• Print calculations as a PDF. Multiple simultaneous printouts in PDF are possible

• Saving projects and customizations (for registered users)

• Calculations based on the ISO 12241:2022 standard
