paroc® Tento is the new stone wool thermal insulation slab for ventilated walls of single-family houses, multistorey apartments, public, new, and renovated buildings. The slab is intended to be used as a thermal insulation for a single-layer system and for wind protection in a double-layer insulation system. It can also be used as wind protection in pitched roofs or other ventilated structures.

paroc Tento is thermal insulation slab with low air permeability, diffusion-open, non-combustible, durable, firm thermal insulation made from stone with low lambda and stable dimensions. 

Why paroc Tento

Low air permeability

paroc Tento air permeability l= 30*10-6 m3/m2*s*Pa. According to a study and numerical simulations conducted by Finnish Technical Research Centre VTT, this air permeability value is sufficient for the thermal insulation used in ventilated facades of different building heights in different climate zones. Lambda 0,033

Thermal conductivity of paroc Tento wind protection/insulation slab is very low and equals 0,033 W/mK. This leads to better thermal resistance R of the insulation layer and low heat transmittance coefficient U value of the structure. In single-layer insulation solutions, low thermal conductivity means more energy-efficient exterior wall structures. Water vapor permeability

The water vapor factor µ for paroc Tento slabs equals 1, which means that water vapor evaporates through the slab as easily as through an air layer of the same thickness. Condensate will not accumulate in the slab and on surface of the slab, water vapor will evaporate from the wall structure through the ventilated air gap. Read more in “Moisture management guide".

5 kPa

When fixing insulation layer to the wall with the fasteners, it is important not to compress the thermal insulation. paroc Tento thermal insulation/wind protection board has a compressive stress of 5 kPa, so it better retains its shape and thickness under the pressure of installation work and fasteners. paroc Tento slab is available in three dimensions: 1200X600 mm when thermal insulation is installed in one layer. 1200X1800mm and 1200X2700 mm are used in a two or multi-layer thermal insulation system where larger wind protection slab can immediately overlay a larger area. 

The surface of the slabs can be without a facer or with white or black glass fibre tissue. For ventilated walls we recommend using slabs with a tissue.
